Beauty and skin therapist joins growing Plymouth salon
Experienced skin therapist Amanda Kingsland has opened a new treatment facility in Plymouth after joining the team at expanding luxury hair and beauty salon, The Lounge.
Amanda will be offering advanced facial therapies including Microdermabrasion, a full range of re-surfacers and skin peels, derma roller treatments and therapeutic relaxing facials, alongside a range of massage therapies, beauty, waxing and tanning treatments.
Launched last autumn by a trio of talented hair stylists who wanted to create a high-end hair and beauty salon providing quality treatments at affordable prices, The Lounge Plymouth has quickly established itself as a dynamic local business, recruiting four new stylists and apprentices over the last seven months to increase the total staff from eight to a current 12. The Lounge was recently named Devon Hair Salon of the Year after winning the honour in the Muddy Stilettos 2017 awards.
The Lounge’s three owner/directors, Lise Færch Godefroy, Steph Davis and Yvonne Schmidt, were keen to offer their clients high end beauty therapies from the three-storey premises in North Hill, as well as hair care services, and welcomed Amanda last month after searching for an experienced beauty therapist to move into the ground-floor beauty suite.
Amanda has more than 15 years’ experience of working in specialist skin clinics, including eight years at clinics in Leeds, as well as in Plymouth and Ivybridge.
Skin therapist Amanda Kingsland said: “I’m very excited to join the fantastic team at The Lounge in Plymouth to offer a wide range of specialist skin therapy treatments alongside facial and body therapies, waxing, tanning and beauty therapies, such as eyebrow shaping and make-up services.
“I provide a variety of general beauty therapies, but my main focus is on one-to-one personal consultations for skin conditions, and custom-designing a treatment programme to help. I can offer a series of treatments following an assessment, helping to treat conditions like acne or sun damage or scarring, as well as to help with general skin rejuvenation.”
Treatments include a range of facial peels and resurfacers, Microdermabrasion, derma roller and advanced facial therapies, which start from £40, and waxing is available for face and body, alongside spray tanning and professional make-up. Amanda uses a reputable American skin care brand called DermaQuest, as well as Natural Spa Factory products in treatments.
Other treatments include:
- Age management
- Acne management
- Acne scarring treatment
- Exfoliating and resurfacing
- Eye treatments
- Therapeutic skincare
- Spray tanning
- Susan Posnick Cosmetics
- Body scrubs
- Massage therapies
“From experience, I can help with a range of skin concerns such as acne and acne scarring, scarring from chicken pox, and many of the treatments are extremely effective, as well as reducing the signs of ageing, brightening of the skin, reducing redness and nourishing the skin overall,” Amanda added.
“Initial consultations are free, and The Lounge is designed for clients to combine hair and beauty treatments, so you could come in for a haircut then come down to see me in the beauty suite for an eyebrow shape in between, for example, and fit longer facial treatments in around your visit.”
Steph Davis, one of the three owner/directors of The Lounge, said: “We’ve been searching for a highly experienced beauty therapist to join us at the salon and are delighted to have found Amanda.
“Lise, Yvonne and I have all worked for many years at other salons and we are passionate about creating something completely new for Plymouth here at The Lounge, with high quality hair and beauty treatments available in one place, from very elegant, luxury surroundings to really pamper our clients – but in a very friendly and welcoming environment, and with affordable prices.”
